This is our signature course for K-12 educators, community members, school administrators, professors or anyone who wants to bring a culture of belonging in STEAM.
This offers a method for connecting with nature through firsthand observations. Sketches are developed in a journal based on these observations. The goal is to build a stronger relationship with the environment, one that connects science with history, culture, and community.
Biomimicry is the practice of learning from, and then emulating nature's genius to solve human problems and create more sustainable life centric solutions.
The STEAM Learning Institute partners with schools and districts to cultivate thriving STEAM ecosystems where everyone feels they belong. We work to co-design joyful spaces and steam curriculum that are culturally relevantat, engaging, place based and joyful.
We help strengthen community and family partnerships to make STEAM learning relevant and impactful.
The program offers a 8-month cohort from late November to May, providing access to workshops, digital libraries, in-person gatherings and retreats, and one-on-one coaching.
Upcoming initiatives include a retreat in Pescadero or Asilomar and the creation of a supportive community focused on societal change. Each participant will have a year to create a project to imagine, test, revise, and implement, culminating in a final presentation during the ceremony.
The project can be anything from a piece of writing, poetry, a new system, a curriculum, a collage, music, a game, a play, an installation, a robot, a workshop. The possibilities are endless as we start reimagining STEAM.
